Bosch Bosch Bosch loadsaminis

NOTE:  the BLogger app has shat itself and no longer posts images, apparently.  Yeah this site is dying slowly.  aaaanyway.... I shall fill in the pictures shortly

My previous hobby streak was interrupted by a slight case of breaking up, moving out, finding a new home and... oh yes... completely retraining in a new career as the games industry exploded. Yep, strangely I am now a phlebotomist.

So now I have a table and access to my storage again, what do I paint? Well, I just grabbed two boxes at random and voila- it turns out that to contained Eureka Minis' absolutely bonkers Chaos Army based on Bosch at his most weird medieval ass.

Here is a sneak peek of what I am working on.

I took the colours directly from Bosch himself and copied his dot pattern decorations too.

Its feels amazing seeing minis I have had for years just undercoated finally bursting with color!

The second box has 2000ad minis (muties, perps and Angel gang), Bad Squiddo Ghosts of Gaia and a few post apocalyptic miscellany.

During my excile from the hobby, I grabbed some Stormbringer magazines for the cheap minis, and slapped a little painty poos on the scenery.

Finally, as is my tradition, I also treated myself to a mini to celebrate finishing a life project- on this case my blood collecting course. I chose this Reaper Gutrag Stitchgolem.  Here is the first pass, I will do more detail and shading once I get him based.

Eureka Chaos!

The missing Darkling shipment arrived last night (wrong number on address it turns out) so I will be getting those in the mail to you all in the next few days.  Thanks for being patient!  I move house in the next few weeks so will be able to hold stock for future orders :)

Inside the box was also my Chaos Army by Eureka minis!  Bosch Bosch Bosch!  Loadsa lead.  They are absolutely fantastic figures, certainly the weirdest, most fun fantasy figures I have seen in a long while.

I used fender washers for the bases this time, as I plan to... no, it's easier to just show you... gonna do this...

I am piggybacking them all on Skirmish trays.  I made these from MDF drinks coasters, and holding washers in place with a light dab of glue, built up around them with Aves Apoxie.  Once dry, I will pop out the washers.  Later I may drill and glue in some diddy neodymiumiamy magnets.

Oh, and I popped into visit my friend Lauren Stardust (check out her hilarious #fuckedbyaunicorn hashtag on twitter) at her game store and look what I found!   The roper from the dnd prepaints!

Yoink!

Okay, I am off on a date.  Wish me luck!

Matakishi cat, Runestaff Flana and my shelf of technicolor lead things

Great.  Insomnia again.  Fortunately I just found a whole list of Sulphite free food alternatives that I can try.  Did you know you can make your own Baileys at home?  Yay!  Sulphite free booze for me!

So my lovely wife took some photos of some of my collection yesterday, and I thought I would post up some pics since I have a few hours for my antihistamine to kick the butt of whatever is keeping me up and itchy.

First off, since the good doctor asked... is my conversion of Mike Broadbent's Matakishi cat for my wifes Skulldred warband.

Converted Matakishi cat- available from Matakishi's tea house..

The 'mostly painted' shelf- Citadel, Eureka, Ral Partha and BeDerken figures in da house!

The 'mostly painted' shelf.  My sculpt of Flana Mikosevar for Eureka front and centre.

WIP of my Jes Goodwin's Nurgle Champion- shield sculpted by me.

So as you can see I nudged along my Nurgle warband a little by adding a shield.  This is scratch built using a 50:50 greenstuff/brownstuff mix.  Its also painted using the talc medium I spoke of in an earlier post- matte as matte can be.  I just got the teeth picked out in white- I will glaze those suckers down when I have the chance.
Its gotten me into the vibe of sculpting some 1980's style shields for my figure range.

Well I am actually yawning now.  Good night, leadaholics, and sweetly painted dreams...
