Ink glazes add depth and richness to a model. You will find that almost all miniatures in the 1980s where shaded with inks. Inks dry glossy, however. This makes blending and shading difficult.
My solution is to brush matte medium on after my wash has dried, dulling down the surface without loosing the richness of the inks.
